Unity for Humanity 2026
From more than 515 projects worldwide, NoWay! was selected as a winner of the Unity for Humanity 2026 award. This distinction recognises games that use technology to have a positive impact on society.
NoWay! is a prevention video game in which you play different characters and follow their daily lives as they face problematic situations.
Using simple, proven methods, you learn to defuse conflicts and to protect yourself and others in a way that is appropriate, proportionate and effective. Helping someone, standing up for yourself, making the right decisions under pressure: you build the skills to handle difficult situations and, whatever happens, get home safely.
What you learn in the game can make all the difference in real life.
Step into the shoes of different characters and follow their daily lives: at home, at school, in the park or with friends.
Teasing, intimidation, peer pressure, online bullying: spot the signs that a situation is getting out of hand.
Saying no, hesitating, going along with it… At every key moment, you decide, and the story unfolds according to your choices.
Confidence, sadness, anger: the same situation can end in several different ways. Replay it, try another reaction and compare, with no risk at all.
For more than 20 years, Patouch has been meeting thousands of young people and adults to talk about prevention and protection in situations of violence.
Throughout these conversations, one question kept coming up: how can we give more young people access to this essential knowledge? To answer it, we chose to innovate by drawing on a world they know well: video games.
NoWay! is rooted in our training programme approved by the University of Lausanne (UNIL) and turns years of field experience into an interactive adventure accessible to everyone. TECFA at the University of Geneva (UNIGE) made sure the educational objectives are conveyed as effectively as possible in the game.
Players can try out different reactions, make mistakes and start again without any risk. NoWay! doesn’t lecture: it offers a space to better understand everyday situations, develop critical thinking and gain confidence.
From more than 515 projects worldwide, NoWay! was selected as a winner of the Unity for Humanity 2026 award. This distinction recognises games that use technology to have a positive impact on society.
Awarded by the Dalle Molle Foundation, this label highlights projects that put science and technology at the service of people. In recognising NoWay!, the jury praised our commitment to using video games as a practical tool to strengthen autonomy, confidence and the ability to act in situations of violence.
NoWay! was designed with experts to develop the skills children need when facing unacceptable situations. To extend the experience, we have created a free debriefing guide and a set of educational resources specially designed to accompany the game.
Whether you work in education or in a support profession, are a parent or are simply curious about the topic, these resources will help you turn the experiences lived in the game into concrete learning and open up dialogue around violence prevention.

The Patouch association works against all forms of violence involving children. Every year, many young people face situations of violence or abuse, whether as victims or as perpetrators. Many of them lack the tools they need to deal with these situations appropriately.
Its multidisciplinary team of violence prevention experts took part in designing NoWay!
Its psycho-educational unit worked on the scenarios and decision branches, bringing its field expertise to build realistic and relevant situations.
The Patouch teamThe game was produced by Digital Kingdom, a Swiss video game development studio based in Vevey. The studio adapted the prevention messages and content into game form and created the world of NoWay!
Sandro Dall’Aglio, an independent game designer, created and oversaw the game’s gameplay structure, then supported the teams through development and user testing.
